Teach Composition on several levels: Composition II (intermediate to advanced studies in Jazz Composing, Theory and Arranging), Composition I (beginning to intermediate studies in Songwriting, Dramatic Music, Basic Notation, Theory, Rhythm, Melody and Harmony). 2000 - present: Ensemble Director, Educational Center for the Arts, New Haven, CT Plan, organize, conduct, arrange and compose for Jazz Ensembles in instrumental and vocal combinations which vary from year to year. Develop intermediate to advanced ensemble repertoire which matches the wide range of student ability and experience, while at the same time introduces them to the most important historical styles and elements of jazz composition and improvisation. 2001 - present: Ensemble Director, Neighborhood Music School, New Haven, CT Organize, conduct, arrange and compose for the Premier Jazz Ensemble, an audition-only ensemble of the Schoolıs most advanced jazz instrumentalists and vocalists. Rehearsal time is dedicated to perfecting a challenging repertoire of all styles of jazz, and to developing studentsı skill as jazz improvisors. 2002 - present: Summer Jazz Program, Neighborhood Music School, New Haven, CT Co-director (2006), Ensemble Coach, Lecturer and Clinician. The Festival Jazz All-Stars, Giacomo Gates, The New Song Quintet, Moxie, Samba Brasil, Carnatic Music Ensemble all have performed at numerous elementary, middle and high schools throughout CT and NY. |
